Left picture: The inactive Voragine is partly filled by scoria from Bocca Nuova (BN) in the background. The place of the former Diaframma is now largely occupied by the flanks of the new growing cone of Bocca Nuova. Other pictures: strong strombolian bursts of BN's NW vent seen from a relatively safe point (200m distance) on the SE rim of the Voragine. |
